SPECULATIVE DESIGN / INTERACTION / 2018 / POLITECNICO OF MILAN / GROUP PROJECT

Chitchat’s project is an example of Speculative and Critical Design. Starting from the question “What makes human humans?” an experience was created that would re-evaluate the common practice of gossip. In fact, gossip can be seen as a means of orientation within society. For this reason, the experience is based on a labyrinth structured in five crossroads and dead ends, from which it is possible to exit with the guidance of a Telegram chatbot. In the interaction, the interlocutor who interfaces with the user represents a friend who asks for help at a time when gossip is needed therefore in some cases gossiping can be positive for oneself and for others, creating bonds. The experience is supported by a visual identity made up of emojis-icons and analog interfaces related to messaging. From design, we moved on to a communicative strategy and then finalized everything in the WMHH (What Makes Human Humans?) Exhibition held in the exhibition space of BASE, Milan.
